What items do you accept for donations?

We supply our state's most vulnerable populations vital hygiene products that are essential for good health. We accept both full size and travel size items! All items must be new. We welcome the following donations:

 

• bar soap

• body wash

• razors

• shaving cream

• lotion

• shampoo

• conditioner

• deodorant

• toothbrushes

• toothpaste

• floss

• wipes

• diapers

• hand sanitizer

• feminine hygiene products

• Sunblock

Do you accept full size personal care products?

Yes, as long as they are unused.

 

Do you accept travel and sample size products?

Yes, as long as they are unused.

Do you accept used hotel soap?

No, we only accept new amenities. However, another nonprofit called the Global Soap Project works with hotels to collect used soap. Please read this statement from their website:

 

Do you take [used] soap donations from individuals and families?

No, not at the moment.  Our production process requires that we manufacture soap in large batches, and each batch can contain only one type of soap. Therefore soap in small quantities cannot be reprocessed.  However, individuals and families can get involved in other ways.  Our greatest need is financial support, and we also need volunteers and advocates as well.

 

Is Amenity Aid a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization?

Yes, effective March 12, 2013 Amenity Aid is recognized by the IRS as a public charity.

 

Is my contribution tax-deductible?

All donations for Amenity Aid are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

 

What geographic areas do you serve?

We currently support organizations in Rhode Island only.
