Where can I request product donations my RI-based direct service organization?

Do you provide hygiene products to individuals?
We do not provide donations to individuals. Contact United Way's 211 to learn about resources that can help: https://www.unitedwayri.org/get-help/2-1-1/

What items do you accept for donations?
All items must be new. We accept the following  full and travel size items:
  • Soap 
  • Body wash 
  • Razors 
  • Shaving cream 
  • Shampoo 
  • Conditioner 
  • Deodorant 
  • Toothpaste 
  • Toothbrushes 
  • All varieties of period products 
  • Hand sanitizer 
  • Lotion
Where can I donate personal care products?
Donations are welcome in our office located at 33 Plan Way Building 3B Warwick RI 02886. We're open to volunteers and donors Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am - 4 pm. If the office is closed, you are welcome to place your items in our outdoor donation bin located to the left of our main entrance. 

Do you accept donations of period products if the box or package is open?
As long as each individual item is sealed or wrapped, we can accept open boxes of period products.

Do you accept adult diapers?
Unfortunately, we do not accept adult incontinence items at this time. The Dr. Martin Luther King Community Center in Newport, RI is always willing to accept these items.

Do you accept makeup or perfume donations?
We hate waste, and we understand the desire to donate pricey beauty products that would otherwise end up in the landfill. Amenity Aid does not accept makeup products at this time, but we recommend sending unused (or barely used) beauty donations to Project Beauty Share®.

Do you accept full-size personal care products?
Yes, as long as they are unused.  

Do you accept travel and sample-size products?
Yes, as long as they are unused.  

Can you pick up my product donations?
Amenity Aid does not provide donation pick up services for individuals or businesses.

Where can I donate non-hygiene products such as food, clothing and household goods in Rhode Island?
We recommend inquiring about donating these items with your local food pantry, community center, homeless shelter, or domestic violence advocacy group. Demand for these items varies. Please know that we only track demand for hygiene products and cannot provide further information.

Do you accept used hotel soap?
No, we only accept new amenities. However, another nonprofit called Clean the World works with hotels to collect used soap, recycle it and providing it to those in-need around the globe. 

Is Amenity Aid a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization?
Yes, effective March 12, 2013, Amenity Aid is recognized by the IRS as a public charity. Is my contribution tax-deductible? All donations to Amenity Aid are tax-deductible as allowed by law.  

What geographic areas do you serve?
We currently support organizations in Rhode Island only.  

Is Amenity Aid a faith-based charity?
No, we are not affiliated with any religious institution.
