Marketing & Development Intern

Responsibilities Include (are not limited to):

Marketing & Development (will be about 75% of the tasks)

• Coordinate and assist with social media content (major component of the job)
• Send thank you notes to donors
• Gather marketing content and data used for newsletters
• Prepare and practice writing press releases
• Update contact information in donor management system
• Help with planning and executing special events
• Perform online research as needed
• Following/flagging social media trends for usage
• Engaging with social media followers/friends, as requested

As a small nonprofit with one employee, the intern will be expected to help in other areas of the organization as needed.

Other responsibilities (will be about 25% of the tasks)

• Assist with organizing products in warehouse
• Packing and unpacking toiletry donations
• Other administrative duties as needed

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience and understanding of several social media platforms, including Instagram and TikTok
• Excellent writing and proof-reading skills
• Ability to work independently
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Comfortable using Google Suite including Gmail and Google Drive
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bonus - experience using Adobe Express or Canva to create graphics for social media.
